Whether we’re styling a coffee table or sprucing up a bookshelf, when we need great accessories or just a well-designed object, we love to peruse the selection at Kaufmann Mercantile. The online boutique initially started as a design blog, exploring the history behind beautiful, handmade objects from across the globe. Just as a test run, they opened an online shop stocked with only eight objects, and from there they’ve grown to include thousands. One of our favorite aspects of the site is the in-depth stories told behind the creation of each of the objects. If you’re in the mood for some more online shopping, don’t miss Shop Talk: ABC Carpet.
Brass & Walnut Pour Over Coffee Brewer
This coffee maker is more a work of sculpture than a kitchen appliance. It’s made by hand in Colorado with American walnut wood. The pour-over method is considered one of the best ways to make coffee. The cone is made by Hario, a Japanese company who has been making heat resistant glassware since 1921.
