Here at Décor Aid , we’re thrilled and honored to be among the country’s top design firms selected to create a room vignette for Design on a Dime, a benefit for Housing Works in New York. The vignettes feature new furniture, art, and accessories, all of which has been donated and then goes on sale during two public shopping days.
Our generous and esteemed sponsors include Pierre Frey, Promemoria, Avery Boardman/Carlyle, Sony, Stark, Phillip Jeffries, Morgan Clayhall, Edition Modern, Cocobolo Design, Tappan, Candelabra, Snowe, Bungalow 5, Sage by Hughes, Owen & Fred, LexMod, Hayward, Design Menagerie, Lenox, Photos.com, The Monacelli Press, Dave Morris Construction and artists such as Benjamin Russell. ELLE DECOR, one of the event’s sponsors, has called it an “unmatched shopping opportunity.”
The event kicks off with the VIP Opening Night Reception on Thursday, April 21, where guests will get a special preview of the vignettes and an exclusive shopping opportunity. Design on a Dime’s founding chair is James Huniford, and this year’s co-chairs are ELLE DECOR editor-in-chief Michael Boodro, actress Marisa Tomei, interior designers Alessandra Branca and Nicole Gibbons, and “George to the Rescue” host George Oliphant.
Proceeds from the sale go to Housing Works’ Hull Street Residence, a housing development project for 28 single, formerly homeless adults living with HIV/AIDS.
